We often encounter a situation where the player who passes the ball to the high post immediately makes a quick move to receive the ball again.
When that player does not receive the ball and instead sets a screen for the teammate in the corner, and all actions played off that screen, we call this POINT OVER.
After the high-post player turns to face the basket, the actions begin in the same way as in the Away game.
In the drawings and the video below, I tried to explain these actions:
Twirl Cut
Back Door
Hand-Off
Hand Fake Back Door
These plays can also be run after our player receives the ball in the post and attacks toward the corner with the dribble, allowing us to execute the same actions.
The plays can be finished with a flare in front of the ball and a Ricky action behind it; at times, a re-pick can be used to flow into a pick-and-roll.
Ideally, all of these options should be left to the player’s own decision-making.
